The diverter works OK, but there are things to look out for:
1) It is not suitable for downspouts that get high water flow. In heavy rain its little internal nozzle is inadequate and water comes gushing out of the top.
2) It is quite noisy (rainwater splashing in to the reservoir) so perhaps not good for a downspout near a bedroom window.
3) No hardware is provided for attaching the white tube to a sealed barrel. That attachment needs to be watertight and able to sustain the pressure of water backing up from a full barrel.
Its reservoir overflows in to the downspout, so when the barrel is full remaining water goes down the downspout as before. But this happens through
