Although this should work great in theory, it really doesn't work that great. For any water to effectively travel through a hose elsewhere, you need some kind of water pressure. There just isn't enough water pressure generated from a down spout. So unfortunately here, most of the water collects within the device simply to leak out through the path of least resistance. From what I gather, only 50% of the water (if even that) travels through the hose while the rest leaks out where the device connects to your downspout. Unless you reinforce the connection, this product is sort of a lost cause.
