I had one similar to this back in the 80s, and it worked like a charm, but this one is poorly made and poorly designed. The "wings" on it were so stiff when it arrived, I could barely move them. A bit of WD40 helped that, but they still will not open up on the upward stroke out of the compost. The folks at Clean Air were not able to offer a solution other than returning it and due to the cost of packaging and shipping, it'll more than likely end up in the trash. This tool is DEFINITELY not worth buying! Now that I've used the tool I have confidence in ordering items from this website.
