This is the worst purchase of my life. It can't cut grass of any significant length or thickness. The wheels stop turning anytime they go into the smallest hole or run into any bump in the grass. They also stop for no apparent reason and the piece of shit just slides along not cutting, so you end up going over places over and over. If you buy this God-forsaken "lawn mover", but some gloves because you'll wear calluses in your palms as you push this thing over the same spot a dozen times with no result. If I don't throw it off an overpass sometime this summer, it'll be a miracle.

I grew up in the '50's and '60's and made money mowing the neighbor's lawns with old reel type mowers. Needless to say they weren't in the best shape and it was a real work out using them. I kept using reel type mowers when I became a homeowner since I never had very large yards. Again, these were older type mowers and that offered a fair amount of resistance when cutting. When it came time to get a new one, I researched what was available on the market and was very impressed with the Brill's specs. I ordered one and held my breath hoping it would measure up to it's marketing claims. It does and I couldn't be happier. It cuts like a dream, offers very little resistance when cutting, has ZERO maintenance and "shouldn't" require any sharpening for 10 years (we'll see about that). Yes, it's pricey and you can get a gas powered one for less but if you've been put off of reel mowers based on experience with older types of designs - don't worry this one is a dream to use.

I was concerned that my 9000 sq. ft. yard and frequent sticks in the back yard would be a problem. I was wonderfully relieved and surprised at how easily the mower handled the project. It pushes much easier than my heavy motorized mower (not self-propelled) and turns on a dime. Picking the mower up and dropping it in a different location was great for the tight spots in my yard...can't do that with my old mower! It proved to be everything the testimonials profess: light weight, easy to push, quiet (I enjoyed hearing the wind, birds, etc. instead of having ear plugs in), environmentally friendly, and efficient. I should have done this years ago. It's a great product.

worked just like the other reviewers said- quiet, light (about 25 lbs lighter than my old noisy expensive gas mower!!) . I can mow a little anytime-even at night when it's cool out - the neighbors can't even hear me, I can mow around the kids without worrying they'll get hit by a projectile rock or stick from the gas mower, or chop their limbs off, no pollution. It's great. The quality is WAY worth the money over cheaper push mowers. Plus I'll NEVER throw my back out pulling that damn rip-cord again! ;-)
