Here’s how it works.
Take some time, browse our web site.

Pick out a product that you’d like to give to someone, even if it’s just to yourself. Then leave a comment below telling us what you’ve picked out and why. The item must cost $250 or less.
That’s all you do, and you’re entered! (Long and boring full contest rules are here.) Be sure to include a link to the product you chose, so we can know exactly which product you’d like. Contest ends on December 17.
There’s a sample comment below, so you can see how it works.
We’ll pick two qualifying comments at random, and give those winners the gifts they’ve picked out.
If you win, we can ship it to you, or if you want to send it to someone else, we can ship it directly to them for you. There’s even a pretty good chance we’ll be able to get it there in time for Christmas.
So leave a comment and enter to win!
P.S. Don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear immediately. They get moderated first.
UPDATE: The winners have been chosen, and the contest is officially over. To see who won, go to our Contest Winners Announcement Post.

THIS IS A SAMPLE COMMENT ENTRY.
My dad loves the outdoors, and that’s why I want to get him the Write in the Rain Garden Notebook on this page:
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/write-in-rain-garden-notebook.html
The pages are made with some kind of weird material that lets you write on them, even when it’s wet outside. It even comes with a one of those space pen things, and a carrying case.
I think my dad will love it!
What a fun idea! I love the Stainless Steel Lunch Box would be just the thing to tempt my beloved into carrying a lunch to work. He’s been particularly resistant (I swear it isn’t my food prep skills), but this has a nice patina of machismo.
Just ONE?? Oh, I see lots of things I’d like to have, lol. But after this past summer in San Antonio, I think a rain barrel is in order. For the front of the house, to keep the neighbors and HOA happy, I think this one would be best.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/agua-rain-barrel.html
Thanks for the giveaway. Always fun to enter and hope.
I do not have a large backyard, so having a compost bin outside is very difficult. This is why I love the Indoor Kitchen Composter.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/kitchen.html
It allows me the ability to compost my scraps indoors. Plus, it is small enough to fit under my sink countertop.
I would choose the Tumbling Composter because it is just the right size for someone without alot of stuff to compost as well as it is easy to stir the composting matter inside because all you have to do Tumble It.
Brill Razorcut 38 push reel mower
This is a gift for myself, so I don’t have to drive to town to get gas for the power mower!
I love the rain barrels! One of the easiest tools to use, since it’s, well, pretty passive, but it recycles what nature sends us. I’d much rather gather water than pay for it. And the http://cleanairgardening.com/33galrainbar.html
is recycled, too. How great is that?!
I adore the cylinder rain barrel — http://www.cleanairgardening.com/cylinder-rain-barrel.html — because it accomplishes two things — it has style enough for the front of the house (important to my husband) and it will store 50 gallons of water coming off the front of the house and currently running down the driveway (important to me).
I love taking care of my lawn in the summer, but can’t stand the sight of my water bills. If I could gather the rainfall and use that water on my garden and the flowers around the house — instead of using expensive tap water — that would make all the sense in the world. I’d love to give myself the gift of your 58-gallon rain barrel.
On my wish list is a composter. I just love the tumbling ones. We made a compost pile but it is so hard to turn and it is not in such an easily accessible place for various reasons. The ones on your web site are awesome. Just dump in the debris and spin. How easy is that? Composting is such a win,win situation; it not only saves precious landfill space but it is such a valuable addition to soil.
Our younger cousins recently bought their first house and I was thinking of a composter as a housewarming holiday gift for them. They are slowly and painstakingly outfitting their home to reflect their environment and outdoor loving lives, so I know they’d appreciate and enjoy a well built compster for years to come. I’m happy with my Tumbler composter, seems like many people enjoy the Tumbleweed one even more – I’d be thrilled to be able to send them either one!
For me, the gift would be the cylinder rain barrel – I have already installed one on our (detached) garage and it is very convenient. Not only do we recycle rain water, it also keeps the area from getting soggy and, best of all, it is right next to the garden – great of washing hands & tools as well as watering. And I don’t have to walk over to our house to use the spigot.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/cylinder-rain-barrel.html
I desparately want to start composting, but the #$%& HOA won’t let me do it outside. I would love to have one of these:
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/autocomposter.html
I know, I know… it’s over $250. That said, what I really want is a $250 gift certificate to Clean Air Gardening so I can buy one myself.
I watched your ‘3 Gift Ideas for Men in 2009′ by Chris. And, I have to admit the thought of seeing my husband aerate the lawn while mowing it would be a site for soar eyes. This would definitely be a gift for me! hehe.
The octagon rain barrel is awesome!
My Master Gardener friend and I have discussed rain barrels, but they don’t seem practical for us time wise, in the time it would take to redirect the amounts of water and not waste it. The Drought Buster Downspout rainwater redistributor seems to be the answer! Just hook up a hose and move it around as needed. What a great invention!
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/drbudorare.html
Thank you for this opportunity! I would love to give this to my friend as a gift for all the gardening advice she shares…. and try it myself!
I’d love to win a Spring Greenhouse for my friend or myself, so we can start our plants a bit earlier out in cold ol Utah and grow our own delicious vegetables and fruits. Danke
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/spring-greenhouse.html
If I were to pick just one thing from your site, I would probably pick something like the Square Cedar Container Garden Planter Box. I would go for the tall or med. one. I have developed fibromyalgia and arthritis in my hands. I’ve also had 2 back surgeries, so a raised bed like this would be so great for me. My husband has a semi-raised 4×6 bed in our backyard, but that is for “his” veggies. I’m the vegetarian, so I’d love to have my own veggie bed to try. If veggies don’t work, I’ll do flowers!
Thanks !
Viki S.
I would like the Aromatherapy Mister for Home or Office. I have already ordered one for a Xmas gift, but I would like one for myself. The Lavender smell really does work for me.
My husband and I like to brag that we hope one day to get arrested for stealing water, as collecting rain is technically illegal in Colorado. But we have been doing so for the last 5 years without concern. Actually, our biggest concern is our neighborhood’s covenants. So far, no one has said anything, but we painted our barrel to match the house, and the paint is chipping, and the barrel is looking homely. I’d LOVE to surprise my husband–and my neighborhood–with this smart looking cistern:
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/eco-rain-barrel-rectangular.html.
Thanks!
It would be nice to have the tumbleweed composter. I have a real small garden spot and as you know every inch of soil needs to be as good as it can. Thank you for this chance to get a composter.Richard
My dad has been a vegetable gardener his whole life. He saves every scrap and has always wanted a composter. I know he would love the “Tumbler compost Bin” (Composter part # TCT green) with the tea maker. He will think he died and gone to gardening heaven. Oddly enough he was looking into making his own and this would be a wonderful gift.
I wish for the recycled tire swing for kids,
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/recycled-tire-swing.html
thanks for the contest!
I would love to get mt mom the tumbler compost bin! I have been trying to get her into composting since it is so good for the environment and her garden. Having to turn the compost was too much for her so i think the tumbler compost bin would be an excellent gift!
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/tumcombincom.html
Thank you for this opportunity I would love to give this to my mom but it is way out of my budget as a college student.
My stepmother really likes to grow her own vegitables, but she isn’t very good at it. I thought the perfect gift for her would be the Aerogrow Indoor Kitchen Garden. With this really cool little garden center, I think even she could manage to grow something! It would probably make the best Christmas gift ever… and it’d be the gift that’d keep on giving!http://www.cleanairgardening.com/aerogrow.html
The gift that I would like to have is the stainless steel compost pail because I like composting and the pail I have now is ceramic, heavy, and cracked. The stainless steel one seems very practicle, durable, and I like the idea of the carbon filters. I hope Santa delivers.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/pail.html
I would choose the Tumble Composter because it takes a lot of the work out of composting and anything that makes being green easier is brilliant. No more excuses if it’s easy to do! http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html
Rain barrels in general are a great gift idea. I already have one for the front yard and would love one for the back. The model here with a planter would be ideal (I have a couple pots on top of my existing rain barrel for the same effect).
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/55gall-rain-barrel-planter.html
My husband would be thrilled to know there’s a recycled Tumbleweed available! It would be a wonderful holiday gift to get us ready for our spring planting. http://www.cleanairgardening.com/recycled-tumbleweed-composter.html
So hard to pick, but for me the perfect Christmas gift would be the Gnome Be Gone Garden Monsters:
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/gnomekiller.html
It’s so funny and unique, perfect decoration for the vegetable garden, and just enough of a splurge that it’s something I couldn’t justify purchasing for myself. Thanks for holding the contest, what a fun idea!
My hubby and I really like the , BONSAI TOOL 10 PIECE SET, we both use wheelchairs, and this prouduct from Clearn Air Gardening, is great great for Clean Air Gardening INDOORS! Promoting clean air is important for good health, and great fun!
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/bonsai-tools.html
I’ve been dying to start composting, and getting my kids involved with it, for years, but keep finding excuses not to. If someone gave me the tumbling composter (http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html), and maybe the adorable crock (http://www.cleanairgardening.com/ceramic-compost-crock.html) for keeping you food scraps until compost time, I would have to just jump right in finally!
I have had my eye on the stainless steel compost pail for a few years now. However; I have never felt that the time was right to spend $40 on something that could be done by an old taco bell cup. None the less it would look a lot nicer on my kitchen counter top than an old taco bell cup.
The Tumbleweed Composter. I bought one this fall and they suggested to buy two but I thought “what if it doesn’t work”. It works and I know I need two so that I can start another batch while one is working. I’ve tried all kinds and never had any sucess – this one WORKS.
My gift to another gardener would be the Gardening Sundial (RI2307), .What a beautiful addition to any garden. I have a small sundial and love placing in the right position for the “sundial” to work properly. Lots of fun, keeping up with the rotation.
Well, now that I’m a novice composter (I do love my bin from C.A. Gardening made from recycled plastic!), the greatest gift I could have in this give-away is a UNIFORK! I love the fiery red color, its relative light weight (I’m a 72-year old widow), and most of all, its indestructable nature! Having lived in England years ago, I’m keenly aware of the British love for gardens; these wonderful people turn postage-stamp sized plots into veritable Edens! Their rose gardens are indescribably and splendidly beautiful! I would be so proud to own and use a made-in-England Unifork to help me become a veteran and successful composter! Thanks for the opportunity, Clean Air…
I would probably pick the Aero garden as a gift (AG 100W). I am a bartender and it would be cool to grow our own mint for mojitos. I live in Wyoming where it is too cold to grow year round. I think customers would think that is pretty cool.
There are dozens of things I’d love. It’s so hard to pick, but I think I’d love this mower. My husband doesn’t think I’d be able to push it, but I’m willing to give it a try!!
My mom would like to start a raised bed organic garden next spring so I would choose the Rectangle Recycled Raised Bed Planter.
I’d love to have the electric leaf shredder to help my tumbler compost bin. I have 14 trees around my yard. When fall comes I have so many leaves that I end up having to bag what doesn’t fit in my compost bin. Usually bags and bags and bags are left at the curb.. I LOVE to have this:
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/leafshredder.html
so I can compost more leaves and less bags to go to the curb!
I love Clean Air Gardening! Thanks guys!
I have a small yard so a compact composter would be great!
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html
Going into 2010, we should all focus on reusing more of the natural resources that are so abundantly at our convenience. The best way to start this is by composting all your old food scraps and plant cuttings, and it couldn’t be easier than CleanAirGardening.com’s wonderful selection of compost bins and accessories.
For only $60, you can start with everything you need in the “Composting Accessory Kit” (CAG51590) which comes with everything you’ll need to get started: a green kitchen counter-top pail, composting book, starter compound & thermometer and 25 Bio bags for your pail.
If you’re on a bit of a budget but still want to make your own organic mulch, you can try or combine the following products all for about $30:
“Compost Pail” (BKC2000) only $19.99
“Home Composting Made Easy book” (HCME) only $3.99
“Compost Maker Mix” (HSBO677) only $6.99
Your plants will really enjoy organically composted nutrients much more than processed, store-bought fertilizers, and you’ll have the peace of mind knowing that you salvaged that carbon and put it to your own good use!
(: Happy Holidays
I think they’ve improved upon a good thing. The new Recycled compost tumbler looks like a pretty slick composing system. I love the idea of having an easy way to turn kitchen scraps and yard waste into enriched soil to use and prevent all that from filling the garbage dump. One step closer to harmony with nature.

If I could have one thing for myself, I would have to pick the AeroGarden Hydroponic System because then I can share my gift with my family and frinds all year long. I love fresh lettuce and greens. If you have not tried to grow your own, I say go for it you won’t be sorry. Thank you.

I got my dad the pecan picker upper, he is getting older and I thought this would help his back alot. I liked it so much I would love one for myself!
I’d love to be able to reduce the amount of food scraps that go to waste and be able to supplement the heavy clay soil in my garden– the Tumbleweed composter looks like it would be an answer to both.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html
I’m in an urban area, so an open compost pile would attract too many opossums, raccoons, etc. Since it can handle indoor vegetable waste and outdoor compostables, it would allow me to fully embrace composting. I have two parrots who eat a variety of vegetables every day, and I hate to see their leftovers just go in the trash. I’m planning to expand my garden next year and having my own compost to improve the soil would make me feel that I’d really met my goal to consume less and reuse more.
need help, as i cannot do it all myself
I especially like the moon Thermometer.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/french-bronze-thermometer.html
This thermometer is both useful and decorative. We live in a very windy area with summer highs in the hundreds and winter lows in the 0 and below on occasion. this is a great way to look outside and know not only what to wear but appropriate activities to plan.

My gift choice is the Flower Planter & Rain Barrel. I love the idea that it will save on the water bill when the dry season hits and watering can still be done. The big plus is how stylish it looks.
This year and christmas have been hard, I’ve spent every dime I could to get gifts for my friends and family, and of course on ingredients to bake them plenty of cookies. Now with this deal I would love something nice for myself, and as I love to cook, I would love having the constant supply of herbs at my fingertips. I’ve seen these before and know how wonderfully simple they are, so this is most definitely what I would like for Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all at Clean Air Gardening and all you wonderful gardeners the world over who enjoy the outdoors in an environmentally friendly way.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/aerogrow.html
Sincerely,
Robert J. Newell
Edgewater, FL
Worm Farm. This is a gift that I can provide to my environmentally-conscious brother and his family! His son and daughter will be able to learn about composting in a fun way while taking care of the family compost scraps!
I would give the chlorine filter… because it is pointless to do all the work in a garden and then kill all the microbes with chlorine when watering. It is one of the best gifts you can give. We recommend it all the time to our fellow community gardeners.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/chlorine-filter.html
The large sized Recycled Outdoor Oval Table & Chair Cover.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/recycled-oval-table-cover.html
I currently have a cheap & obnoxiously bright blue tarp covering the furniture & my wife bugs me at least once a week to find a nicer looking cover.
I would like a gift just for myself — a big 399 gallon rain barrel would be perfect, but the price is too high. So, how about that rectangular wooden rain barrel, with the plastic liner.
I am moving to a new– older home this month. A rain barrel would make for a great, first home improvement, addition to that old house.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/eco-rain-barrel-rectangular.html
I work for a small business owed by a husband and wife who own four macaws and a cockatoo. They go through a lot of fruit and newspaper. I bought them this compost bin last year.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/composter.html
They have only been using it since early July and are running out of room. I saw this new bigger model.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/jumbo-recycled-compost-bin.html
I think it should give them enough room! What do you think?
At my old house I had several ugly black (but relatively cheap) raised beds, and oh! what wonderful vegetables they produced! All I had to do was pour commercial garden soil into the beds and plant. How easy! The buyers insisted on keeping the raised beds, so I left them behind. It’s only been one season, but I already miss my raised beds. This lovely cedar bed would fit right in with my landscaping, and I could enjoy lush, fresh vegetables again.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/cedar-raised-bed.html
These short days take a toll on the patio plants that come inside for the winter as well as my orchids. Supplemental lighting has always been either too energy intensive or too cumbersome, but these LED light bars are compact, energy efficient and effective. http://www.cleanairgardening.com/growlight.html
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/aerobic-compost-bin.html
I would love to get this for my daughter Cesca and my son in law Greg. They have taught me more about recycling and the beauty of composting. they have recently move to San Jose and even in all the upheaval they continue to compost. This would lovely in their cute back yard.
For your favorite multi-tasker, Lawn Aerator Shoes would be a terrific gift to inspire your recipient with hands-free, low-tech approach to lawn care with obvious secondary aerobic benefits for both the lawn and the recipient.
I would love to give my father the electric leaf shredder. Their yard is so full of leaves and they spend hours raking, bagging it and hauling it. This would make their life so much easier and they could just use the clippings right in their yard.
Definitely I would choose the Aerogrow in kitchen herb growing system. With all the food channel TV we enjoy, this system would be an ideal gift for the “young couple chefs” we know. Alright maybe because we line in San Diego, the need for one is not as great as if we lived in Utah, but the tastiness of those fresh herbs in the salsa is just as satisfying. Of course you know the problem will start right after we give the gift away, and will have to order one for ourselves!
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/aerogrow.html
My gift choices are below as my friend is already a rabid gardener and composter with two compost bins but needs lots of help in moving things along to actually get hot compost so the compost tumbler would do this, plus I would add the watersaver downspout to encourage her to get the rain barrel she’s been lusting about a long time, and finally something fun – the cow poop pots. The website shows my friend’s garden.
This is a free shipping item for this month which helps greatly.
Tumbleweed Compost Tumbler – $189.99

Cow Manure Compost pots – $15.99
I would love to receive this! My husband and I love to compost and this would be a nice upgrade from our trashcan with the bottom cut off! http://www.cleanairgardening.com/aerobic-compost-bin.html
I have tried to make compost and I just don’t have the nack. I think this might be just what the Dr. ordered
I would love the square wooden rain barrel. We have a small side yard and this would fit perfectly. We currently have a smaller rain round barrel that we use to capture our AC condensation, but this one would be perfect since we will be adding gutters to our house and will need a larger system. The square shape will make it easier to add additional water storage. Also this product is very attractive which is a big consideration for us because our system faces our neighbor’s kitchen windows. The fact that the wood is sustainably harvested is an extra plus.
I have been wanting a rain barrel for some time now an I think the
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/whisky-barrel.html
with the stand would be the perfect one. Here in Oklahoma water is always scarce and I would love to be able to harness what nature gives us.
Stainless Steel Compost Pail
Part # SSCP
I soooo need to get this for my husband. We have a large compost, (homemade 3 bin) in our backyard but my husband likes to collect the kitchen waste in a baggie and keep it next to the kitchen sink on the counter “till I can take it out”. Often this gets tossed in the trash can and not taken outside for one reason or the other. We have good intentions but we don’t always make it to the compost. This is on our soon to get list but hasn’t made it yet.
I love my Tumbleweed Recycled Compost Bin and have been thinking about getting a second one when I spotted the three tiered aerobic-compost bin. It sounds like the perfect answer to my composting needs. My garden gets better every year thanks to these products that allow me to make compost easily. Thank you Clean Air Gardening!
Oh boy, oh boy! I’ve been trying to my husband to order this item for the last 2 yrs! Our shed smells like gas with our hand-me-down gas powered mower. I can’t stand the fumes when it’s sitting lifeless or the emissions that it causes when it’s used. I would love to have this item. Thanks for keeping our lawns and gardens clean and the air a bit fresher
HEY FREE IS FREE. I’D TAKE ANYTHING BUT ON MY WISH LIST IS A NEW COMPOST BIN ANY STYLE. THE TUMBLER LOOKS PRETTY COOL THOUGH
I would love the Spruce Wood Composter:
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/sustainable-wood-composter.html
I just moved into a new house with a big back yard — it’s a bit overwhelming to me, actually. And I really need to be careful about not buying everything I would like — so this is in the “special treat” category that I probably won’t be able to afford for a good long while. But it’s beautiful! Thanks for gifting!
Cheers, Heather
We just moved into our first house and I just bought a composter for the first time. A Electric Leaf Shredder would be a huge addition to our gardening needs so that I can get compost faster to aid in water conservation here in the dry San Joaquin Valley in California. Compost tends to keep plants cooler and more moist and my new yard could really use some TLC with all the hardpan and nutritionless soil around here.
I have had such great success with your tumbleweed composter and plastic stationary composter this year, that for 2010, I am going to try to conserve on rain water. Your 70 gallon square wooden rain barrel would work perfectly for me. It is:
http://cleanairgardening.com/eco-rain-rectangular.html
I have gotten so many people to compost now and have recommended them to your website, that I hope to do the same with water conservation.
The http://www.cleanairgardening.com/premier-mosquito-trap.html could be a dream solution for my allergy to mosquito bites!
A Butterfly House sounds so lovely and hopeful! Especially to receive it in the cold of winter and dream about setting it up in the garden come spring.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/butterflyhouse.html
My partner has been looking for a rain barrel for quite some time and hasn’t yet found one that doesn’t look like a trash can. Since the best location for one would be at the front corner of our house, it should be attractive. The 50-gallon cylinder rain barrel seems like the perfect one – practical and beautiful – so I would love to win it for her! http://www.cleanairgardening.com/cylinder-rain-barrel.html
My husband is into composting our yard waste, but we haven’t composted our kitchen scraps. Yet. If I could get him a Tumbleweed Composter, like this one: http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html
we could be the “most composting family” on our block! We recycle a lot too, so we would reduce our garbage to almost nil. That’s a gift for the planet, too!
This composter http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html would be a great way to compost and keep our dachshunds and poodle from trying to eat the scraps. Merry Christmas!
I think the Indoor Herb Garden would be a perfect gift to give to my friend who is moving to China next month. She’s always talking about growing herbs on her window sill, but has never actually done so. I also think this would be perfect, familiar gift to help her get started cooking over there, and help her get acclimated to the not-so-familiar Chinese food.
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/indoor-herb-garden.html
I would dearly love to have the tumbleweed composter! I compost all the time, but with makeshift structures. It would be so, so nice to have such a neat and easily turned composter. Some day….
http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html
i have wanted to start composting. http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html
