Here comes summer! Lawns are green, and gardens are in, or going in, right? It’s time to sit back on the patio, and welcome summer.
Officially, when is the first day of summer? That was the question from the back car seat today. So, here it is. The first day of summer is June 20th or the 21st, depending on where you live. This is the longest day of sunlight and shortest night of the year.
Thinking back to summer childhood memories, what do you remember about summer? Ice cream at the pool, lemonade at the pond, or do you remember the bug and mosquito bites covering your ankles. If you have ever gotten chiggers while picking summer blackberries, that memory might win out.
Don’t let the bugs, flies, and mosquitoes stop your summer plans. Check out our store sections on bug bite protection and mosquito control products. You can find products like DEET free insect repellent, and even organic natural mosquito repellent yard spray.
Why use a DEET free insect repellent, anyway? Check out the signs and symptoms of DEET poisoning. And, here’s an EPA factsheet on DEET Insect Repellents.
