If you’re looking for a deceptively simple way to save money, try installing an all-off light switch beside your front door. This is a simple switch that controls all the lights in your home; one flick as you head out the door, and it won’t matter if you’ve forgotten to turn off a light somewhere in the house. For even greater energy savings, you can connect specific outlets into the circuit, so that you can cut off the juice to computers, chargers, and non-critical appliances that contribute to the phantom loads that that run up the typical household electrical bill.
