When you’re trying to protect your crops from daily raids, squirrels are no longer just cute, furry critters you share your yard with — instead, they’re annoying interlopers .

You can deter them naturally and organically, though, by taking advantage of their hatred of castor oil. Mix one-half cup of castor oil with two gallons of water, and use it to water the affected plants. If you’re trying to protect tree crops, be sure to saturate the branches with the castor oil solution, too. The squirrels will stay away, and you’ll safely enrich your soil in the process.
