Houseplants seem to have their own specialized pests, and one of the most common is the whitefly, a minute sucker that feeds on plant juices. Fortunately, they’re not that hard to get rid of. One way to do so is to spray your plants with a mixture of equal parts Murphy’s Oil Soap and water. If that doesn’t appeal, you can create a mixture of three teaspoons of garlic powder, a half-teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, and a quart of water. This is a concentrate, so be sure to dilute it to a mixture of two ounces per pint of water before you spray your plants. It’ll do in those whiteflies within minutes.
