Don’t Forget to Provide Water for Winter Birds

Although many birds fly south in the winter, some don’t — and they may end up depending upon you for survival, not just for food but for water, too.

In the dead of winter, birds may get desperate for water, because what they’d normally have access to is locked up in snow and ice. You can put out water regularly, but it may freeze before they’re able to find it.

Your best bet is to invest in a heated birdbath, which will keep the water in its liquid state indefinitely. You can get one for as little as $60, and if you’re a bird-lover it’ll pay for itself with all the colorful birds it draws in.
