We can’t wait for our first homegrown tomato sandwich for the summer. Have you had yours yet?

Don’t worry, most of us are just entering tomato growing season! So, there is plenty of time.

Remember, there are tons of tomato varieties out there. Try something new this year. Grow your hybrid tomatoes, like Early Girl or Better Boy varieties, and then try heirloom tomatoes. Plant the heirloom tomato in a smart pot and throw some Tomato Thrive on it and see what happens! Here’s a list of heirloom tomatoes.

Or try a themed garden for your tomatoes. Grow a salsa garden or spaghetti garden! For a spaghetti garden, just plant some Roma tomatoes, basil, oregano, parsley, and garlic! That’s it, and you will have fresh spaghetti sauce from your garden. Salsa gardens rock, too! Make some for a cookout, or make a big batch and can it for fall picnics. You’ll get invited to all the picnics for your salsa! Click here to learn how to make it.
