Organic foods, especially meats, can be extraordinarily expensive when purchased in stores; but that doesn’t mean you have to depend exclusively on your garden for the good stuff. One option available to most is the local farmer’s market, a venue that’s often found even in large cities; for example, we have an excellent one right here in downtown Dallas. If you can’t find one on your own, try plugging into LocalHarvest.org in order to locate a farmer’s market in your area. You’ll still have to check with individual vendors as to whether they grow their products organically; some truck farmers do, some don’t.
