Now that gasoline costs upwards of $3.00 a gallon, there’s more incentive than ever to use less of it — a practice that can make a huge dent in the amount of pollutants and greenhouse gases we pump into our atmosphere. You don’t have to work too hard to cut back. First, get a tune-up so your car runs more smoothly and uses less gas in the first place. Then have your oil changed, and make sure the old oil gets recycled properly. Next, ensure that your tire pressure is right where it’s supposed to be: overinflated and underinflated tires use more fuel.
